Wrist Essentials #1

I have to be honest when I say I own far too many watches. In my eyes, owning a watch and one you really love, is a definite must. It's sort of like the way every girl should own a a red lipstick. Sometimes it's what either makes or breaks an outfit.

I guess in many ways, I'm a watch girl. There are many things that are taken into consideration when buying a watch, be that for you or someone else. We must decide if we prefer automatic or manual, if a vintage or a new one, the straps, the colours, among many other things. Personally, I like all types, as long as they feel comfortable on my wrist. And generally, Î tend to go for the simple and restrained type of watches - I like to know they also fit under my clothes.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not obsessed with collecting watches (I'll leave this to my aunt who actually does collect them). Most of the watches I do own were given to me by a friend of the family and my grandmother's bestfriend whose husband collected watches before he passed. And she gave me a few of hers too as she doesn't use them anymore (and she has others as well, so it's not a problem). I mean, let's be realistic, I don't actually have the means to afford any of them myself. And any other watches I was either given by my grandmother or I bought them myself.

Of course, I believe that it's hard to find a good watch if we're not willing to spend a little bit more of money on, but I do own my fair share of less expensive watches. And I happen to love every single one of them.

There's this portuguese actor who wears one watch on each wrist, or at times, two on one wrist. And I'll have to be honest and say that I've been tempted to do the same before as well.

Anyway, I thought I'd do a little round up of those I do own, and maybe if you guys like this type of post, I'll keep on showing you what I own in terms of watches. Most of these are quite old, which is why I can't find links to them, so I apologize in advance for that.

Like many other items, I have the tendency to always go back to the same one - either the Omega watch or a Rolex (not pictured as I'm saving it for a future post).

What kind of watches do you own? Or what is one accessory that you can't live the house without? Let me know what you think about the post and if I should keep updating you on my wrist essentials.

  1. I have been during watches to, but I almost never wear the one I have anymore. The ck one is the one is go for here, but there is MVMT or Daniel Wellington that are adorable and sleek options I really like too. Choosing a color is the hardest!
